We'll continue the story in Part 2, but for now, there are some sites you'll want to visit, or at least locations to take note of.įirst, you'll notice that the west gate is locked and guarded. There are shops to visit, people to talk to, and side quests to pick up. Head inside and head to the south end to receive the side quest Charmed I'm Sure.Įxplore the city at your leisure. Now head to the dock warehouse that are opposite the docks. You can trade with any of the crew, especially the captain who may have a few items of interest. On the other side of the dock is a ship with a full crew. Talk to the middle sailor to start the side quest The Shipless Sailors. On one side is a burnt ship with three sailors in front of it. Now head down the dock that had the ship on fire. If you extinguish the fire (or assist the ship burning down with a fire spell of your own), you'll trigger and resolve the Fire! Fire! Fire! side quest. If you have a Rain spell (either as a conventional spell or a scroll), you can use it to extinguish the ship and earn some experience. A dozen men are attempting to douse a burning ship with buckets of water to no avail. As soon as you can, turn left (toward the southwest) to find the docks. Head inside the gates to find the harbor. He'll tell you where the scene of the crime is, but he'll advise that you speak to the mayor and the captain of the legionnaires first. (Almost every character in the game can be bartered with to some extent, though actual merchants hold the best and most varied stuff.) Speak to him if you wish, then head into the town by proceeding northwest.Īs you approach the gates, you'll meet Arhu, the wizard who summoned you to the island to investigate the murder. You can talk to an unnamed legionnaire, and barter with him as well. Try to keep them apart to prevent unnecessary damage.Īfter the fight, loot everything you can on the beach. The orcs also have a shaman in their party, and his magic, while not overly strong, hits a range that may damage both of your characters at once. Their commander is a man with a bow, and he's fairly accurate you'll need to take him down fast. The orcs themselves are melee only and can be picked off from a distance. This battle can be a little tough since the orcs are fairly strong, and their companions can shoot you for moderate damage from a distance. After the fight, you'll trigger and resolve the Orc Fight on the Beach side quest. Luckily, a few other legionnaires are nearby, and they'll help you out automatically. You'll follow a snaking path to a lower beach, and you'll be set upon by some orcs. Once you're past them, the path becomes fairly linear. Speaking to them, and choosing whichever option, both activates and resolves the Guards at the Bridge side quest. (Note: if you barter with them, then instigate the fight and win, you can get all the stuff you sold to them back.) Either way, be sure to heal fully before moving on. If you refuse, they will immediately attack you. However, as the conversation closes, they'll want to escort you to the city. Speak to them, and they'll even offer to barter with you. You'll encounter a bridge guarded by two drunk legionnaires. Go back to the Waypoint Portal, then move directly northwest. Speak to it to trigger the A Shell on the Beach side quest. Make sure to pick up the shovel next to the waypoint as you will be using this at various points throughout the game.įrom the Waypoint Portal, head southeast, go under the curve rock, keep going and you'll find a large shell on the beach. Just seeing it (i.e., within the same screen of your character) will permanently trigger it, and you can use it to get around to other areas of the game. Follow this river as it goes northwest, and you'll find your first Waypoint Portal. Either way, you'll need to continue west along the beach to move on.Īssuming you're starting at the location of the first fight, you need to go southwest. If you enter and clear it, you'll exit just to the northwest of the first fight. If you ignore the door or don't realize it's there, and instead continue west, you'll get a pop-up box warning you that the tutorial dungeon exists. If you going to clear this tutorial dungeon, remember not to spend the Rain Scroll, you will need it later to solve quest, so keep at least one!
